Staged for Success

Staged for Success

Home staging, the practice of making improvements to a house on the market to increase its selling power, is catching on in the Lake Norman area. The intent behind home staging is for potential buyers to be able to see the home as theirs.

In home staging, we depersonalize and de-clutter a home to accentuate the architecture and space to the best advantage of the seller.   Staging looks at a home through the eyes of a buyer - someone who doesn't want to do anything to the home - they just want to move in.

Staging involves simple things like cleaning, removing and/or rearranging furniture when traffic patterns don't flow well, and even packing up belongings to allow buyers the ability to imagine their possessions in the home.

The focus is on lighting, color and enhancing focal points.

As a seller, you don't want buyers to feel like they're intruding on your family's private space.

Builders have been staging model homes for years. They know that lovely staged models sell homes.

Also, buyers can get so focused on a home's décor and then they can't see how their own things could possibly work.

There is a big difference between interior design and staging.  Interior design should reflect the personality of the people living in the home and with home staging, it should show off the features of the home by depersonalizing it.

Terri Latta is an Accredited Staging Professional and would love to put these skills to work for you so that your home will sell quicker and for more money!
